Choice of classification.

In recent years the taxonomy of living entities has witnessed a revolution and the modern classifications are currently changing. So for the convenience ,homogeneity and clarity we have chosen to apply the former classification so-called « morphological or traditional » instead of the new classification or so-called « natural or plant life »
In fact even though the traditional classification, issued from Linne’s works, is out of date (as made up from questionable criterion) it is still widely used because of its completeness and stability.
We must specify that the modern classification is permanently changing and depends on current genetic and phytogenetic research. Therefore we have chosen ,for example, to keep the family group (Latin endings in « dae » )for the Morphidae, Heliconidae, Danaidae, Satyridae, Brassolidae, Nymphalidae, Amathussidae, whereas in the new classification they are attributed the title of lower family (with a Latin ending « nae ») e.g. Morphinae, Heliconinae, Danainae, Satyrinae…….) regrouped into the same and only family Nymphalidae.
